My husband Andy was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018 and treated with surgery and radiotherapy. In January this year, we were told that the cancer had spread and was now incurable. He is currently receiving a course of chemotherapy to slow the progress of his cancer and this is working well.
I also know two ladies who are having chemotherapy for breast cancer, one of them one of my closest friends. When our friend Jane suggested we should shave our heads to support Janet my initial reaction was no. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realised that having cancer means you have to do things that scare you.
So, in support of Janet and for my amazing husband Andy I will be braving the shave.
