First time when I have shaved my had was when I was 17 (16 years ago) as a sign of rebellion. A couple of years later, my mum got cancer, so both of us shaved our heads. I guess I got this idea of doing it again when I've seen this on facebook. Many of us have loved ones that are in a battle with cancer, or we have lost someone who lost the battle. I've lost both my grandmother and mother in law due to cancer and my mother is in a continuous risk to have it again (she won 4 battles until now). As it is summer and I do not put much value on the physical aspect, I have decided to join the 'Brave the shave' community and try to do my part in helping people who are struggling in defeating cancer.
