I’ve got incurable cancer. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and underwent chemotherapy, mastectomy surgery, radiotherapy and targeted treatment, and was told 'they'd got it'. Over the next 4 years it recurred 3 times...and spread to my brain. I had brain surgery to remove the tumours, had Steriotactic radiation therapy, and actually had periods of time where it looked like the cancer had been out-manoeuvred and beaten back. However, last Christmas (2023) I was told it had returned; I now have 5 tumours in the brain. I’ve just completed my latest treatment of Steriotactic radiation and don't know yet what the next steps are. It’s tiring to say the least. 2-years into my diagnosis, my sister Jasmine and I undertook a mammoth year-long task, holding an event every month throughout the year to fund-raise for Brain Tumour Research. We raised approx £40k and had a lot of fun doing it. Now, it's time for some more fun...but scaled down a bit! This time, I really want to raise funds for Macmillan, who help and support everyone suffering from any type of cancer. With my husband, sister and good friend Dawn, we are 'Braving the Shave' - in January no less, the coldest month! We'd all be really grateful for your generous donation / support or, why not join us?! Thank you
