I lost my mum to cancer in 2005. She never saw any of her daughters get married and never experienced the joy that grandchildren can bring. She did get outstanding care and support from Macmillan during her illness. The work they do is so important, not only for the patient but also the family. I have raised money for cancer related charities before but this will be the most emotional. Hair loss is a cruel side effect of chemotherapy for many women and I am happy to show solidarity with these brave human beings.
