As a chaplain at a hospital I see a lot of patients who lose their hair whilst they go through treatment, for some but not for all, it is the one thing that worries them the most. In addition as a previous minister of a church I saw the tremendous work that Macmillan does and did for people affected by cancer, both in the community and in the hospital where I work. Therefore I thought to myself that I must be able to help them in some way and another friend of mine (Collette Kelly) Braved the Shave earlier on this year and so I decided to do the same
