As Headteacher at Brownmead Academy, I was approached by our Head Boy, Sam, to ask if I would 'Brave the Shave' for Cancer support. Many of our families in the community are affected by cancer and we want to help. We have already raised about £500 through Christmas discos and donations into school. We have a planned 'Wear Green for Macmillan' on Friday 24th January and we are planning on holding an auction evening, auctioning gifts donated by parents. On Friday 14th February, Valentine's Day, both Sam and myself will brave the shave. For anyone that knows me, this will be a nerve-wracking day for me, as my hair style and image is important. I guess that's why I hope to raise as much money as possible.
